The Family Frivolity Fun Day in July was a great success with good profile for the area as lots of people attended and the rain stayed away!
There was a huge turnout for the Strawberry Homes – Bangers on the Barge fireworks extravaganza and thanks to East Coast Fireworks for their impressive fireworks display.
Special thanks to the Old Custom House Trust for allowing the opening of the custom house.

Thanks Simon for a wonderful wedding fireworks display at the Copthorne Hotel and Resort Solway Park Wairarapa.
From the initial meeting until the display Simon was extremely open and professional.
His communication was excellent he was extremely diligent with site inspection, dropping leaflets to immediate neighbours and overall execution of this wonderful event
We really enjoyed watching the Bride and Groom started the smaller display using the dynamite plunger followed by the main display.
I would be more than happy to recommend Simon by phone email or mail to clients wanting a very professionally organised event.
Cheers Wendy

Simon,
Have I ever got some customer feedback for you - YOU ROCK! That show was legend, mate! The first thing people still say to us is "Man, those fireworks..." While showing a mate and his wife some video from that night, he looks up at me and says, "Wow man, this is amazing! What was the occasion? Was it like a national holiday or something?" When I said "Hello - it was our wedding", he could only shake his head and respond, "WOW"...
I think that pretty much says it all... Except for the fact that the people on Highway 1 just pulled over to the side of the road and stared into the sky, it was mostly just one more Saturday night. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that people from all different parts of town and surrounding areas witnessed the show from their decks and balconies and were amazed at the biggest pyrotechnic display they had seen in their lives!
Thank you Simon - again & again!!
Look for us in your mailbox in about two weeks or so.

- Dear Simon - I was at the Guy Fawkes display you mounted in Waipawa this year. I have to say the programme was nothing short of spectacular. You know, it was just so good that the whole crowd was kept in a constant state of awe so that there was no impatience or other bad behaviour experienced. Congratulations on a truly professional and exciting presentation. Trevor Ulyatt, Waipukurau.

Dear Simon - I do want to thank you very much indeed for all that you did to make the Schools Annual Guy Fawkes’s evening a great success. The members of the public thoroughly enjoyed them. The response to the firework display has been great. Most people thought they were the best firework display they had seen. I’d like to thank you and your team for the effort you put into making the whole thing seem effortless. Your organisation and efficiency certainly helps the School in organising the event. Thank you once again for being so professional at the venue. You gave us and our community another memorable display. We will of course be holding a similar event next year. The date is yet to be confirmed, but is likely to be the 5th November. Please reserve this date for us. Olwyn Johnston, Principal Waipawa School
Dear Simon - I would like to thank CHB Fireworks and you personally, for the stunning fireworks display witnessed by the Waipawa community during the Waipawa Schools Annual Guy Fawkes’s evening. The display was certainly spectacular and Coronation Park was a very good point from which to launch the fireworks. People all over town were able to see (and hear) them. The display was certainly a fitting end to a successful day. Please pass on my thanks to all those people who were involved in setting up and launching the display and I wish you company every success in the future. Elizabeth Dawson
- Dear Simon - thank you very much for arranging a fireworks display at our family gathering, the whole evening went well. The display was excellent, and one of the best that I have witnessed, with favourable comments from our guests. Please be kind enough to pass on my thanks to your pyro team for helping to make our special day so memorable. We are looking for an excuse to have another display. Once again, many thanks. Subject: RE: Email of thanks and Appreciation - Outdoor Pyrotechnic Display - Waipahihi Bay, Taupo
Hi Simon, it was a fantastic display, I think it was the best Taupo has ever seen!
Thank YOU for making everything run so smoothly.
Cheers
Vanessa
- Hi Simon
We consider ourselves very fortunate indeed to have experienced it outside our hotel, all of the staff are still talking about it.
I was very impressed with your side of it and the quality. I have no idea of the cost – imagine it to be very high for what they had – however, I will be trying to talk some conference into having it by putting some pics on our website – next time though I will have some photos taken from a distance though. A boat on the lake or around the bay would have been good.
Do you think there would be any problems getting permission again through all the channels?
Cheers
Diane

- Dear Simon - Don't want to appear to be a regular contributor to this page but, together with Kirstie, I did want to express our grateful thanks for the fine fireworks display you created for our wedding evening. It was the perfect finale to an excellent occasion.
Cheers, Trevor - March 2008
- Hi Simon,
Thank you for your contribution to our Festival programme by way of providing the spectacular fireworks display. Undoubtedly the experience was value for money with the rather humorous scenario of applause breaking out on four occasions when a pause occurred – to then experience more and more and more!
The response of the crowd was hugely enthusiastic and this is our best measure of the success of the event. It was evident that you and your team operate professionally and responsibly and the variety of display certainly added to the appreciation.
It was great to have the media capture the display and it was notable that is was the fireworks that they focussed on – another acknowledgement of the quality of display you delivered.
Thank you Simon for your commitment and persistence, the Trust would happily recommend your services.
Kind regards,

I found Eastcoast Fireworks on a Trademe website and immediately knew this is what could set our wedding apart from the rest. Simon made contact with us in the weeks leading up to the wedding and we asked Eastcoast fireworks to keep our display a secret. So, with many emails and a few phone calls our display was organised between Simon and the event Manager at the Resort.
We were kept informed at all times. I felt relieved every time an email was forwarded to us explaining where the planning and consent process was up to.
We met with Simon prior to the wedding to show him around the grounds where the display was to be fired and also discussed photo opportunities.
On the day (we prayed for the wind to stop) things went without a hitch. My future husband was in contact with Simon via a cell phone and we knew exactly when to move our guests outside for the big surprise.
There were a few grumbles when the MC asked our guests to 'rug up' for a special outdoor photo. No-one guessed what our surprise would be.
I was so excited when we had our guests have a photo. Our poor photographer climbed a ladder in freezing cold weather to gather the guests for a special shot. We moved over to the plunger, counted down to ourselves and started off the show!
The display was simply amazing! The colours were magnificent and the noise was incredible! Our guests were cheering and clapping. I even had a few tears. We stood together and watched a glorious display which was timed to surprise and captivate.
This was a secret and surprise to our wedding guests. The event was planned and managed professionally. Staff at the Resort were even surprised by our display! We thoroughly enjoyed working with Simon , he made our wedding the event we only dreamed it could be. A truly spectacular surprise for our wedding party and most of the town as well!
Our guests were amazed. We had comments such as "that was bigger than the town display at Guy Fawkes"!
The event was incredibly well managed. Stress free . And what an amazing display!!!
I am so grateful for the fantastic show we received. It made our wedding so special. This was an excellent way to make our day a real 'event". And...nearly the whole town was able to see part of our wedding.
Thank you .
