Eastcoast Fireworks exploded into life over 10 years ago when its founder Simon Osborne (Rural Fire Officer, Pyrotechnician and ERMA Approved Handler Pyrotechnics) was asked to provide a Guy Fawkes fireworks display for local Schools. As you may appreciate we accepted the challenge. The rest is history.

Eastcoast Fireworks is the Pyrotechnics division of Fire & Rescue New Zealand a Non-Government Rural Fire Service and NZQA registered and Accredited Tertiary Education Organisation.

Fire & Rescue New Zealand as a non-government Rural Fire Service and our Pyrotechnician Simon Osborne as Rural Fire Officer hold approval from Environmental Risk Management Authority (ERMA) to use and handle Pyrotechnic (Display Fireworks) Class I Category C Substances in compliance with Regulations 35 — 45 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 and Regulations 2001 and Amendment 2003 and we have been firing firework shows for over 10 years.

Eastcoast Fireworks, a pyrotechnic display company and Fire & Rescue New Zealand, a Non-Government Rural Fire Service have enjoyed a friendly and cooperative relationship over the past 10 years. Both organisations were created by Simon Osborne a true firework enthusiast with a passion for playing with fire and this passion is evident in the amount of work and the attention to detail that goes into each and every display that Eastcoast Fireworks performs.

Eastcoast Fireworks and Fire & Rescue New Zealand are taking the pyrotechnical skills and knowledge of the old world and combining it with the youthful enthusiasm and inventiveness of the new to create a fireworks display that will pump the crowd up before a sporting event or as an excellent finale to a wedding, anniversary, birthday party, corporate event, festival or funeral - we can even place your loved ones ashes into fireworks and launch tem into the air.

Eastcoast Fireworks personnel are fully trained in all aspects of the fireworks and emergency response industries. This training covers the use of, safety of and firing of all pyrotechnic devices that are currently available. By successfully training all our staff, we are in the position to offer several different methods of firing each event depending on each client’s requests and needs. This can include a combination of each of the following methods i.e. Hand Firing, Electronic Firing or Computer Firing. This enables us to offer a wide range of solutions to your budgeting needs.

From our base in Waipukurau, we are ideally placed to operate anywhere within the North Island. Our Approved Handler Simon Osborne and Pyrotechnicians are highly trained and experienced in the firing of professional firework displays for all occasions. They are full members of the Pyrotechnics Guild International (PGI) and they undertake annual specialist HAZMAT, First Aid, life safety and fire control risk management training.

While we’ve become one of the premiere fireworks companies in Hawke’s, we cannot lose sight of what has gotten us here: a commitment to innovation that impacts audiences visually and emotionally, attention to detail, listening to clients and a serious regard for safety.
